PEOPLE are being urged to keep away from a white substance which has been washed up on Charmouth beach.
West Dorset District Council has said the white fatty substance, which is probably vegetable oil, washed up on the beach today.
A spokesperson added: “In our experience, the sea will break these substances up over time.
“Please do keep away from these deposits and don't allow children to touch or animals to eat the substance.”
More to follow.
