THERE'S a chance to enjoy a glass of fizz with celebrity gardeners if you attend Toby Buckland's Garden and Harvest Festival.

Two lucky visitors to the festival at Forde Abbey, Chard, have the chance to have a drink with the festival’s celebrity speakers, Charlie Dimmock and Christine Walkden.

Everyone who purchases a VIP ticket online in the run-up to the festival is being entered in a prize draw to meet the celebrities at the two-day event on either Saturday September 16 or Sunday September 17.

Charlie, best known for presenting the makeover programme Ground Force with Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh is currently back on our screens with BBC’s Garden Rescue and will meet a VIP winner on the Saturday of the festival.

Christine is a regular on Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time and the in-house garden expert for BBC’s The One Show and will meet the Sunday winner.

Toby’s Garden & Harvest Festival is playing host to more than 150 exhibitors, including specialist nurseries, artisan food producers, local art and crafts, live music and harvest-themed workshops. VIP tickets include entrance to the festival, tea/coffee and home-made pastries on arrival, a delicious buffet lunch in Forde Abbey’s historic Refectory, once the dining room to Forde’s Cistercian monks, VIP cloakroom and a garden-themed goody bag to take home.

Toby Buckland who was recently announced as the new presenter of BBC Radio Devon’s Sunday morning garden phone-in show between 9am-midday, says: “I’ve known Charlie and Christine for years and they are both full of fun and whoever wins will not only have a great time but I’m sure they’re bound to get a gardening tip or two!”
