HARDY'S classic novel is to be brought to the stage this weekend in the setting which inspired it.
Far From the Madding Crowd will be performed at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
As three very different suitors compete for her heart, spirited, independent Bathsheba Everdene must choose between them.
Will she choose to marry for passion, for obligation or for true love and companionship? Or will she value her independence and not marry at all?
Celebrating their tenth anniversary, Hotbuckle Productions Theatre Co. brings Hardy’s romance to life in his hometown with live music and their trademark ensemble style.
This latest production follows on from acclaimed tours of Emma, Persuasion and David Copperfield.
*Far From the Madding Crowd, Dorchester Corn Exchange, Saturday May 13 at 8pm and Sunday, May 14 at 2.30pm. Call Dorchester Arts box office and Dorchester TIC for tickets.
