SILKS and ceramics will be on show at Durlston Castle from August 23 to September 6.

The exhibition Texture, Colour and Creativity will display work from the Eeles family of potters and silk weaver Debby Kirby.

Taking their inspiration from the rich vibrant reds and autumn tones of the Dorset countryside and the majestic blue and greens found in the sea of the Dorset coast, the show will feature stoneware, porcelain and raku ceramics alongside woven silk scarves, wall hangings and more.

The Eeeles family of potters recently celebrated their 50th year of potting in Dorset, blending traditional techniques with an experimental approach to colour and texture. Debby is the resident silk weaver at Walford Mill Crafts and has more than 30 years of textile knowledge and expertise

Simon Eeles said: “We are really pleased to be exhibiting with Debby in this wonderful location.”

Debby Kirby said: “I have known the Eeles family since I started weaving 30 years ago, and was lucky enough to work alongside David Eeles, for several years, when we were both members of the Dorset Craft Guild. I have always loved their work, with such beautiful colours and forms, and was so pleased to have been asked to exhibit with them in such a stunning setting at Durlston”

The exhibition is open every day between 11am and 5pm and the exhibiting artists will be on hand to chat about their work.
