WITNESS to the debauchery and murder of some of the most decrepit puppets to crawl out of a back alley, as The Black Hoods Cabaret descends on Bridport’s Lyric Theatre next week.

Knuckle & Joint Theatre Company’s dark comedy puppet cabaret for adults charms you into darkness and mayhem as a pair of calamitous puppeteers manipulate a variety of disturbed and troubled puppets.

Revel in a cabaret with sarcasm, self-deprecation and slapstick amongst many bizarre happenings.

Fans of silent comedy will appreciate the physical comedy and slapstick - and, as events of the cabaret get more violent, the black comedy will appeal to fans of surreal comedies such as Monty Python.

Nurtured and created by Knuckle & Joint, The Black Hoods Cabaret has been performed at comedy and cabaret clubs over the UK and sold out at the world famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe last summer.

Knuckle & Joint is run by Peter Morton and Rebecca O’Brien, a duo specialising in intricate puppetry design and dynamic performance.

Rebecca said: “With a playful nature at the heart of our work, we both share a passion for imaginative storytelling."

n Performing at The Lyric Theatre, Bridport on May 6 and 7 at 8pm.

Knuckle & Joint are running a workshop Manipulating Puppets on May 7 10am-1pm at The Lyric Theatre for over 12s. Learn how to build your own simple puppet.
