FANS of folk music are in for a foot-tapping treat when nationally acclaimed band Holy Moly And The Crackers arrive in Dorset to tour their latest show If The River Was Whiskey.

The Newcastle band will be at Melbury Osmond Village Hall on Wednesday November 25, Frampton Village Hall on Friday November 27 and St Nicholas School in Child Okeford on Sunday November 29.

The band, a seven-piece ‘gypsy folk'n'roll’ group, are making an impact on both the local and national live music scene, having played over 200 shows throughout the UK and appearing at numerous festivals over the summer.

Influenced by an eclectic range of styles including punk, ska, reggae, folk and blues, tracks from their 2012 debut album and subsequent EP have been played by many including BBC Introducing and leading music critic Mike Harding.

Their latest show If the River was Whiskey is the perfect collision of lively tunes, dancing, storytelling and drinking.

It weaves the tale of Willie O'Connell and a love affair with whiskey which leads him away from home and into the path of malt soaked Scots, wild women and old American moonshiners.

Part gig, part story, this medley of original songs and old time drinking tunes is best enjoyed with a wee dram in hand - expect a thrilling and hilarious evening of lively music and tall tales!

All performances begin at 7.30plm
