A LONG weekend of simple family camping, quality cider and happy vibes will be on offer this weekend.

Scrumpy and Western legends Skimmity Hitchers will perform as part of the event at Bredy Farm near Burton Bradstock, during the August Bank Holiday weekend event.

Camping Be Cider Seaside will be held on working farmland with spectacular views of the Jurassic Coast and Bride Valley.

The event is not a festival but a simple and friendly camping weekend with some entertainment thrown in.

The site will feature an open air, hand built bar stocked with local cider and ale at less-than-pub prices. Also on offer will be a barbecue and breakfast bar with locally sourced food, and a camp fire to create a special night time atmosphere.

Farmer Charlie Harris of Talbot Harris Cider, said: “Many people choose the Jurassic Coast for their bank holiday break and rightly so.

"We wanted to offer a rustic camping experience with a twist and are delighted to have the Skimmity Hitchers playing two sets for our campers on the Saturday night.

"With the addition of an open air bar and camp fire people can expect to make some friends and have a memorable weekend.”

Skimmity Hitchers is comprised of Jack Scrumpy, Tatty Smart, Drum Cheddar and Magners O'Magnersson.

Families and well-behaved dogs are welcome but no glass is allowed on the site.

The event takes place from Friday (28) until Monday, August 31.
