THE ANNUAL Sidmouth Folk Festival takes place next week - with hundreds of events scheduled across a host of venues.

The very best names in the UK folk scene and beyond will perform at The Ham Marquee, the event's 1,100-seater concert venue.

Headliners include Julie Fowlis, The Poozies, Altan, Mara!, Blowzabella, Andy Irvine, Chris Smither, Martin Carthy & John Kirkaptrick, Emily Portman Trio and the Spooky Men's Chorale.

The Ham Hub is a great meeting place for festival-goers with its range of food outlets, atmospheric café-style seating area and a great bar with local beers and ciders. Concerts take place at 12pm, 3.15pm and 8pm daily, from tomorrow (31) until Friday, August 7.

Events are selling very fast for a number of Ham Concert evenings.

Festival-goers can choose the Bulverton for the best in roots dance music. Live music kicks off at 7pm, followed by two great bands during the week, including Peatbog Faeries, Edward II, Spiro, Demon Barbers XL, Topette, Tantz, Coco and The Butterfields. Revellers can stay for the Late Night Extra with a big gig ticket, and chill out afterwards in the brand new Betsy’s Lounge space. Get there between 7pm and 8pm for some great early bird special deals on food and drink.

There will also be workshops on offer, as well as events for children in Blackmore Gardens.
