THREE emerging stand-up comedians will perform at the latest Bridport Comedy Cafe tomorrow (31).

Mark Cooper-Jones and Hayley Ellis will hit the stage at the Electric Palace - while Mark Smith will act as MC for the night.

As seen on Russell Howard's Good News, Mark Cooper-Jones is an exciting emerging stand-up comedian, a Chortle Best Newcomer nominee, as well as one third of the highly acclaimed sketch group WitTank.

Alongside his fellow WitTank members, Mark was one of the stars of BBC3's Live at the Electric, contributing as both a writer and performer. They have enjoyed six years of sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe as well as numerous gigs and comedy festivals in the UK and Ireland. They have received a best show nomination at the Leicester Comedy Festival and appeared on the 50 Funniest Moments of 2014 (Channel 4), Three At The Fringe (BBC3) and BBC Radio.

Manchester comedian and former regular contributor to XFM's breakfast show, Hayley Ellis has gone from strength to strength since she began performing in April 2009.

A regular MC at gigs around the country, Hayley’s natural warmth and girl-next-door charm make her impossible to dislike, something which has become evident in her success in new act competitions throughout the UK.

This summer, Hayley performed at the Edinburgh Festival as part of The Comedy Zone, the Fringe’s longest running and most prestigious stand-up showcase. Following great success at the festival, Hayley has also won Hull Comedian of the Year. Hayley took her first solo show to Edinburgh last year.

Mark Smith has rapidly established himself as one of the most interesting and exciting new comics on the circuit. Since reaching the final of So You Think You’re Funny in 2009, Mark has gigged all over the UK, is a regular MC and has broken into television to appear on Russell Howard's Good News. In 2012 he appeared at the Edinburgh Festival as part of the long running and prestigious package show The Comedy Zone. 2013 saw Mark take his debut solo show, The Most Astonishing Name in Comedy, to the Pleasance Courtyard at the same festival.

When Mark is not gigging around the country, he also performs warm-up gigs for shows such as Have I Got News For You (BBC1) and Room 101 (BBC1) as well as writing for television (8 Out Of 10 Cats) and radio (The News Quiz).

The doors open at 7.15pm for an 8.15pm start.
