TWO employees at Bridport's co-op supermarket will be checking out their parachutes before a charity sky dive on Sunday.

Becky Watson, 20, and Jane Willment, 46, plan to bail out 10,000ft above Honiton to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

They are taking part in a tandem parachute drop, each being attached to a qualified instructor before taking off from Dunkeswell airfield.

Becky, the checkout supervisor at the Sea Road North store and Jane, the customer service manager, signed up for the drop after reading a leaflet from the Alzheimer’s Society calling for volunteers. Between then they have already raised £700 for the cause.

Said Becky: “Neither of us has done a parachute jump before but it seemed a good idea at the time. As Sunday gets nearer we are getting very nervous – although excited as well. We get a small amount of training on the day and then, weather permitting, we will be taking off.”
