James Harden and Eric Gordon fuelled the Houston Rockets as they fired back from a 21-point disadvantage to steal a 138-134 overtime win against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Harden’s 19th game in a row in which he scored at least 30 points also saw him notch up eight rebounds and six assists.

LA began to pull away from Houston towards the end of the first quarter and the gap had widened to 21 by midway through the second.

The tide turned in the Rockets’ favour after the break and Houston had closed the gap to two points as the final quarter approached.

Gordon pushed the game into overtime with a three-pointer and hooped four free throws in the extra period to give Houston the win.

Paul George converted a four-point play with just over five seconds left on the clock to lift the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-115 over the the Philadelphia 76ers.

George top scored with 31 points, had six rebounds and five assists, while Joel Embiid replied with 31 for the 76ers with eight rebounds and six assists.

Nikola Jokic – with 19 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds – claimed his sixth triple-double of the season as the Denver Nuggets dispatched the Cleveland Cavaliers 124-102.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Pistons were edged 103-101 by the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks suffered a 111-99 defeat to the Indiana Pacers and the Orlando Magic were beaten 118-108 by the Milwaukee Bucks.
