Dorset bowlers have been crowned national champions after winning the National Ladies Fours title at the national finals in Leamington Spa.

Karen Hofen, a member of Lyme Regis Bowls Club who also plays for Poole Park, was part of the victorious team alongside Millie Tuck, Bridget Hodder and Julie Leake.

The quartet claimed the National Ladies Fours championship, giving Dorset representation among the national winners.

Lyme Regis Bowls Club said it was proud that one of its members had been part of the title-winning side.

A club spokesperson said: “So not only are the national champions from Dorset, but one of our members was part of the team - a wonderful achievement, Karen and we are proud to have you as club member.”
