HALWILL 3 LYME REGIS 6

LYME Regis are now second in Devon and Exeter Division Two after they turned their fixture on its head against Halwill on Saturday.

The Seasiders were trailing 3-1 at Halwill Junction before netting no fewer than five second-half goals to seal a 6-3 triumph.

The result means Tim Edwards’ troops have scored a whopping 16 goals in their last three league games.

They currently sit three points behind league leaders Henry’s Cronies in the division, a side they were promoted with from Division Three last term.

The Seasiders are set to go on their travels again this Saturday when they visit Sherborne Town Reserves in the Dorset Senior Trophy (2.30pm).

Meanwhile, in Division Seven, Lyme Regis Reserves also racked up six strikes in their 6-0 victory over Bradninch.

Lyme’s Pete Peacock helped himself to no fewer than four goals in the reserves’ romp at Davey Fort. Currently fourth in the table, Lyme host Colyton Seconds this Saturday (3pm).

Lyme Bantams will also be looking to secure their first win in the Perry Street & District Premier League on Saturday. Currently bottom of the pile, they host Barrington at Woodroffe School (2.30pm).

Elsewhere, Beaminster succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Perry Street in the Coronation Cup at the Memorial Playing Field. They travel to Crewkerne Town on Saturday (2.30pm).
