SWANAGE TOWN & HERSTON 1

Bridport RESERVES 3

TRISTAN Gale grabbed two goals in a man-of-the-match display as Bridport Reserves continued their incredible run with a fabulous victory at Swanage Town & Herston.

The Bees went behind to a poacher’s goal from James Crossin but once they levelled through Jack Scovell just before the break they never looked back with Gale knocking in his brace in the second half.

Bridport joint-boss Steve Crabb, whose side now sit ninth in the Magna Dorset Premier League, said: “Swanage are an improved side and it is never an easy place to go so to come away with a 3-1 win was very pleasing indeed.

“We started really well and missed a great chance through Ben Clarke but then after that they got on top and took the lead with a tap-in after one of their players saw a shot cannon back out off both posts.

“They possibly deserved that goal but on the stroke of half-time we got right back in it when Tristan pulled the ball back from the right for Jack to fire into the top corner from 15 yards.

“After that we completely bossed it in the second half with Tristan grabbing us two more goals, the first of which was set up by Robin Jones.

“We could have scored more, with one effort being disallowed, but overall it was another pleasing performance.

“The fact we had a sticky patch for 20 minutes but managed to work our way through it is very encouraging and hopefully we can now keep this run going.”

The Bees, who will host Cranborne on Saturday (3pm), have now won their last four games, scoring 19 goals in the process.

Crabb added: “Cranborne may be below us in the table but they beat Sherborne Town Reserves 7-0 at the weekend so it is important we give them the respect they deserve.”

Bees: Fry, Fellows, Stordy, Hill, Jones, Steele, Cummings, McAllister, B Clarke, Gale (Day 75), Scovell (A Clarke 75).
