BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker stressed the importance of continuing to score points as the Bees prepare to travel to Brislington in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division on Saturday (3pm).

After a winless January and first half of February, Bridport arrested that trend with a 1-0 win at Chard Town and are looking to pick up their second away win in a row when they face the Foxes.

Speaking to the Bridport News about the clash, Fricker said: “We’ll certainly be confident, we’re in decent form and we’ve got a strong squad.

“We’ll go up there confident and positive and look to put in a positive and confident performance.

“Even when the results weren’t there, the performances were good – we knew the tide would turn.

“We need to keep the consistency. We’ve got plenty of games to play between now and April. It’s important to keep picking up those points and put ourselves up where we feel we should be.”

But Bridport will play without star striker Mark Salter for the next three games.

Fricker said: “Mark is going to be missing due to work commitments. That’s going to be a blow but the squad is the size it is for a reason and players need to step up and fill the void.”

Bridport beat Brislington 3-1 at St Mary’s Field in October thanks to goals from Salter, Ed Butcher and Leigh Bailey.

The Bees have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Bristol.
