COLFOX had an excellent day at the South West Championships in Newton Abbot on Saturday with the school having nine athletes selected to represent the county, more than any other school in the county.

There were tough conditions after heavy rain but it was a good course and all of their athletes went away happy.

Out of the Dorset athletes in the minor boys the school had Oakley Winters-Obrien who finished third, Oliver Jones who finished fifth and Ryan Pitcher claim seventh.

In the junior boys the school had two athletes as Owen Pitcher claimed a great second place out of all of the Dorset runners with Oliver Forsee just behind him in third.

In the inter girls they had Maddy Herbert was fifth out of the Dorset contingent while in the inter boys Colfox had Manny Cox finish was the fastest Dorset runner and in the senior boys Tom Crabtree claimed sixth spot out of the Dorset runners.

They wait is now on to see if they have made it into the Dorset team for the English Schools Championships in Leeds next month.
