BRIDPORT Under-16s made history on Sunday by securing a place in the County Cup final for the third year in a row.

The West Dorset side overcame Shaftesbury 4-1 at St Mary’s, and now look to make it third time lucky after two failed attempts at under-14 and under-15 finals, losing both by one goal.

Bridport were trailing 1-0 at half-time on Sunday but, after a commanding second-half performance by every player in a home shirt they hit back in style.

Goals came from Rhys Hughes- Williams and Cody Bowditch followed by a Riley Weedon double as Bridport stormed into the final.
