BRIDPORT Youth kick off the first of their four academy games next Tuesday, November 17, against AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

This will be followed by games against Liverpool (November 28), Blackburn Rovers (November 29) and Exeter City on Saturday, December 5.

Coach Martin Phillips said: "This idea started off as an aspiration and has now become a reality thanks to endless hours fundraising with the support and generosity of the general public and businesses both in Bridport and afar.

“This represents a real challenge and gives us the opportunity to showcase some fantastic talent from Bridport.

“The players, parents and especially me are really excited and cannot wait until Tuesday.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support, both individual, of whom there are too many to name, and all the businesses and organisations that have offered support in more than one way.

“Thanks to Michael Scadding Plumbing & Heating, Daren Morgan Limited, Longs Fish & Chips, Scrubz, AW Flooring, Morrisons Bridport, PR Property Repairs, Chalmers & Co, Scott Morris Building Services, Bridport Rotary Club, Football Foundation, Bridport Lions Club, Hope & Anchor, RM Gillingham & Sons and Bridport Round Table.”
