BRIDPORT and Beaminster will both kick-off their Dorset Saturday League campaigns at home this summer.

The new season is set to get under way on May 3 and both teams will be hoping to build on their 2013 campaigns when Bridport secured second spot in Division Four and Beaminster finished eighth in Division Two.

The league has once again undergone a bit of a shake-up this year with two Premier Divisions (Premier One and Premier Two) now sitting at the top of the ladder, followed by Divisions One to Six.

As a result, the regionalised Division Five North & West and Division Five South & East, which were in place last season, have both been scrapped.

The reshuffle means Bridport will be playing at the same level as they did last year in Division Three but Beaminster have effectively dropped a tier, despite remaining in Division Two.

Bridport will begin their campaign with a home clash against Christchurch Seconds before travelling to Kingston Lacy for their first away game the following week.

Division Three consists of many of the same sides as last year’s Division Four, so the Brewery Ground outfit will be confident of having another successful campaign.

As for Beaminster, they will be looking to make vast improvements in what certainly promises to be an intriguing fourth tier this summer.

With Weymouth Seconds, Dorchester Seconds and Portland Red Triangle also in Division Two there are sure to be some big rivalries.

Beaminster start out at home to Cattistock before making the trip to Ferndown Wayfarers on May 10.

Both teams will play 18 fixtures over the course of the season and are always on the lookout for new players.

Beaminster are also running a second team this year in Division Six.

They travel to Wimborne & Colehill Fourths on the opening day before hosting Cranborne Seconds the following week.
