DORCHESTER 4

BRIDPORT 2
Weedon 6, Stavrianos 82
Bridport fought valiantly but in the end were beaten by Southern League side Dorchester Town at the Avenue on Tuesday night.
The Magpies were given an early scare though as Riley Weedon put the Bees 1-0 up within six minutes with a stunning long range effort.
However, Tom Killick's side came from behind to lead at the break thanks to goals from Wes Fogden and Luke Roberts.
Shaquille Gwengwe added a third to put the Magpies in control before Stef Stavrianos pulled one back for the visitors to make it a nervy end to the game.
Magpies new signing Marcus Daws settled those nerves though with an 89th minute penalty on his first start for the club since re-joining from AFC Totton.
Chris Herbst Bees started well and were in front at the Avenue after six when Weedon struck from distance to catch Noah Crisp off guard in the Magpies goal.
Dorchester came fighting back though with chances falling to Fogden, Ngalo and Kyran Samadi.
Just as the half hour mark approached, Fogden would find an equaliser as he was sent through one on one with Bees' keeper Jordan Scadding before slotting home.
Scadding then pulled off a good save from Samadi just five minutes later, before Roberts then fired a shot at the post as the Magpies crept closer to taking the lead.
Then just as half time loomed a brilliant attacking move saw Samadi cut the ball back for Roberts who fired into the roof of the net to give the Magpies a 2-1 lead at the break.
After the restart it was a tight affair but substitute Gwengwe would extend the home sides lead just two minutes after coming off the bench.
The striker latched on to fellow sub Luke Pardoe's right wing cross to slot home for 3-1.
Bridport forward Stavrianos would make it a nervy finish at the Avenue as he pulled one back for the visitors after pouncing on a defensive error from the Magpies.
Bridport had a claim for a penalty as the game approached full time, but the result was wrapped up when Daws rifled home from 12 yards after the Dorchester winger was awarded a penalty at the other end.
