UPLYME & LYME REGIS 165-0 (20pts) beat CHARDSTOCK 163 (4pts) by 10 wickets
UPLYME & Lyme Regis dismantled Chardstock by 10 wickets in a one-sided Devon League D Division East encounter.
With leaders Alphington & Countess Wear losing, the victory brings Uplyme right back into the title fight.
Currently, Uplyme are 2.2 points behind the leaders on average points, but only 0.5 behind North Devon Seconds.
On a baking-hot day, Uplyme were invited to bowl first.
Chardstock weathered the early loss of Rob Hutchings (0) as Gary Larcombe (31) and Alex Watson (36) saw their team to 83-3.
But Tyler Wellman (5-42) claimed another five-wicket haul to tear through the visitors’ middle order, James Rockett’s 30 helping Chardstock to 163 all out.
However, Chardstock could not have imagined the batting brilliance to follow as Uplyme chased down their target with 16 overs to spare.
