UNDER bright blue skies, Seaton Tennis Club members were back on court on Monday after the three-month lockdown.

Six courts were busy all day as everyone began enthusiastically making up for lost time, with a record 32 people joining the evening club session.

Club chairman, Simon Prior, said: “It’s great to see the courts back in use again and we’re looking forward to a busy summer of social and league tennis, all socially distanced of course!”

The club welcomes visitors and new members of all standards and for those who are a bit hesitant, there’s always Rusty Racquets and adult beginners on Saturdays from 2-5pm.

Players do not have to be members and racquets can be lended. Just turn up with suitable shoes and give it a go in a very relaxed atmosphere for the princely sum of £3.

The club also welcomes juniors. Head coach Dave Taylor and his team are running Easter camps on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the school holidays and a regular weekly coaching programme will resume after that.
