LYME REGIS will return to competitive football next week as lockdown eases.

Grassroots sport has been allowed to restart from Monday as part of the Government’s roadmap out of the national shutdown.

However, the Seasiders are just one of five teams in their half of the Joma Devon & Exeter League Premier Division after league chiefs gave teams the option of pulling out until the 2021/22 campaign.

As part of a regionalised approach to reduce travelling, Lyme will play in the Premier East tier.

Mark Bailey and Julien Simier’s side will take to the Davey Fort pitch on Saturday, April 3 against Feniton.

Prior to lockdown, Lyme Regis had played just twice but scored 15 goals with a 9-0 demolition of Dawlish and a 6-4 win at Kentisbeare.
