WEYMOUTH FC’s Supporters’ Association recently presented two pictures to the Weymouth & Portland Veterans’ Hub.

Founded by former soldier Andy Price, pictured right, the hub – WFCSA’s nominated good cause this season – provides vital support services to veterans as well as providing a focal point for them to meet and socialise.

They rely entirely on donations to keep going and the local community has really taken the hub to its heart as there is a very large veterans community within the local population.

The WFCSA have had collecting pots in the main bars and club shop throughout the season and the club has already hosted hub veterans for the November ceremonies.

A bucket collection for the Easter Bank Holiday Friday game was planned, but that will now be carried over to a time when the WFCSA can get up and running again.

Chairman Pete Nash thanked everyone who has supported the WFCSA’s fundraising to date, and for the difference it has made in the veterans’ community.
