WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley remains in relaxed mood despite the Terras strengthening their Vanarama National League South play-off position.

Molesley watched on in grizzly weather as his side secured a magnificent 3-2 fightback win at Hampton & Richmond last weekend.

A hard-earned three points helped close the gap to third-placed Havant & Waterlooville, who drew 1-1 at second-placed Slough.

Weymouth, who lie fourth, are level on 55 points with Havant, who in turn are a point behind Slough, although leaders Wealdstone have streaked six points clear of the chasing pack.

Quizzed on the title shake-up, Molesley played a straight bat.

He told Echosport: “All we can do is take care of our own games, our own results, and we did that (on Saturday).

“All we can focus on is ourselves, how we play, train, stick to our processes and see where it takes us.”

Weymouth sit 12 points above Hampton in eighth, the Beavers just outside the play-off places.

The Terras’ win in south London was arguably the best comeback victory in Molesley’s tenure, but the former Bournemouth midfielder was keen to highlight his side’s mental fortitude.

“Your next win’s always your biggest one,” he insisted. “It was a great win, we’re delighted, but most delighted with the character and attitude of the boys.

“The whole group has a never-say-die attitude. Since when we’ve been in, we’ve never known when we’ve been beaten.

“We’ve always been written off and always come back stronger – that was certainly the case (at Hampton).”
