ANDY McDermott and Danny Aplin were in fine form with some blistering darts in the Weymouth ADC league.

However, Drew Peacock's charge for the top 12 took a hit as he lost all three matches.

Peacock was undone by Trev Honnor, Aplin and McDermott. He had chances against the latter but McDermott’s superior finishing was key in the 4-1 scoreline.

McDermott’s other match produced arguably one of his best performances of the season with two 180s and a blistering 94 average in a 4-0 thumping of Mel Burton.

McDermott’s 180 tally now sits at 22 for the season.

Burton did however find success in the evening with a 4-0 win over Matty Betts and a hard-fought 3-3 draw with Billy Short, adding two maximums to his tally.

Short enjoyed successes against Paul Paice and a closely-fought 4-2 win against Shaun Lampard but succumbed to a 4-1 defeat to the bald eagle Andy Masters, who enjoyed a much more fruitful evening as he overturned Betts 4-0 and pinched a great 4-2 win over the in-form Simon Churchill.

This was to be Churchill’s only defeat as he produced solid darts with a 4-0 win over Paice and a great 3-3 draw with Lampard.

Mark Samways helped cement his place in the top 12 with a 4-0 victory over the classy Simon Sharpe, he beat Guy Paddock by the same scoreline and added a great 4-2 win over Stew Masters.

Masters did however manage to pick up three good points out of six as he beat Arnie Quinn 4-0 and drew 3-3 with Ian Lloyd.

Lloyd was the draw specialist of the night as he drew with Quinn and Paddock.

Lloyd is enjoying his first season in the ADC and looks a certainty to be in the top 12 at the end of this season.

Paddock's draw with Lloyd was to be his only highlight of the evening as he fell to two defeats - one of them coming at the hands of a resurgent Chris Burton.

Burton stamped his authority on Dave Butler with a 4-0 win and was pushed all the way in a 3-3 draw with Sharpe.

League leader Aplin has laid down the gauntlet to second-placed McDermott as he routed all three matches 4-0 hitting a 107 checkout and two 14-dart legs to add to his ever growing tally, remaining top of the league.

Honnor also enjoyed a hat-trick of wins and found a 118 checkout as he defeated Butler, Peacock and Nigel Davis respectively.

Davis did however pick up a victory and a 180 in a 4-1 win over Scott Gannon, who Gannon produced a victory of his own with a 4-2 win over Butler.

Betts' form stumbled as he unfortunately fell to three 4-0 scorelines, one of these at the hands of Paice.

Quinn managed to pick up three points out of a possible six to help pick up his challenge for a top-12 finish.

The ADC have settled nicely into their new venue and information on registering for our summer season will be coming soon.
