MAGPIES’ boss Callum Brooks was delighted after a powerful performance saw his side see off Evesham United 2-0 in the FA Cup yesterday.
Two goals from centre-forward Tom Bath earned the county town side a place in the second qualifying round of the cup.
The BetVictor Southern League Division One South and West outfit started well in both halves but the Magpies withstood the pressure well and created several opportunities before taking the lead on 42 minutes.
The Magpies sealed the tie when Bath struck again in the 90th minute.
Brooks said: “We’re delighted to be in the hat for the next round.
“Evesham was a tricky test for us and we stood up to their physicality well and that gave us a platform to play our football.
“It was important to get that first goal and it was a great header from Tom. He worked relentlessly and I think that’s five goals in four games for us. He fed off the scraps and sealed the game late on.”
