ENGLAND shooter Lee Bowditch has won the Veteran High Gun Cup at the Home International at Dungannon CPC, Northern Ireland.

The 59-year-old hot-shot from Beaminster earned his 20th cap for England in the Olympic skeet shooting discipline.

The England team consisted of 17 shooters, nine senior, two junior, two ladies, two veterans, and two super veterans.

Bowditch said: “I had to shoot three competitions this year to qualify and also to finish in the top two in England to earn my place at Bisley, Doveridge and South Wales 2000 shooting grounds.

“A total of 100 targets were shot on two ranges and five nations with 85 shooters locked horns for individual, team, class, and Hi Gun trophies.

“I am very pleased to have won the Veteran High Gun Cup for the second time with a score of 92 ex-100 targets shot having won this cup two years ago.

“I also won the team silver platter together with David Maddox for Team England.

“My score was also the eight highest overall and so it was a very good competition for me.”
