THE current leader for West Bay Sea Angling Society’s club’s fish of the quarter, July to September, is club chairman Rod Barr who caught a tope off Southsea.
Barr’s haul of 22.7kg (111.2 per cent) whilst on a boat out of the Hampshire venue is a new club record for outside club waters and, after posing with his catch the tope was returned alive to the sea.
Meanwhile, in the latest daytime match at Abbotsbury only a few mackerel were caught.
Results: First most fish points: Adam Cullingford 4pts; Second best fish: Steve Fowles – mackerel 33; Third most species: (1) Gerry Read – mackerel.
