YOUNG striker Neemo Nixon has agreed terms with Dorchester Town ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Having previously worked with manager Callum Brooks at Hamworthy United, the teenager has been training with the first-team squad during pre-season and featured as a second-half substitute in both of the Magpies’ opening friendlies against Bridgwater Town and Horndean.

Dorchester boss Brooks said: “Neemo used to come and train with the first team when I was at Hamworthy, and it was obvious then that for his age he has an exceptional talent.”

“When I made the move to Dorchester, I compiled a list of what I thought were promising young players that we could nurture with the potential of having a bright future.

“Neemo was on that list, he’s come over and I don’t think people need me to say that he has been really impressive during the time he’s been out on the pitch.”

“Even some of the first team players in training have been saying ‘who is this lad and how is he only 16?’, so he’s one that we’re looking forward to help nurture and progress in the right way.”

After signing with the Magpies, Nixon said: “It’s good to have the next year sorted and be playing men’s football which is really what I was after this season.”

“It’s been good to get on the field again, I’ve missed it over the summer obviously and being able to play at Dorchester which is a much higher level than I’m used to is something that is exciting and I can really enjoy.”
