ST GEORGE’S maintained their perfect league record for this season with a close five-wicket win over Puddletown, achieved with only three balls to spare.

Bere Regis maintained their rather less admirable one hundred per cent record, going down to Cattistock, for whom Martin Langford with 43 and Oliver Lee with three wickets for 15 were top performers on the day.

Hazelbury Bryan kept up their challenge for the Division Two title with two good wins.

Following a 45-run win over Abbotsbury, it was rather easier for them against title rivals Dorchester Casuals as Luke Holman’s three for 15 kept Casuals to 110-5 despite Josh Foot’s 54 not out.

For the home side, Jim Bettle (46no) and Chris Haynes (49no) found the going much easier as Hazelbury won by 10 wickets.

Abbotsbury fared rather better in their game against Cosmos. Simon Mitchem with 69 not out and Simon Pengelly with 39 got the Swans to 137-5 off 18 overs.

Harry Mitchell’s 44 and Dom Webb’s 35 seemed to have Cosmos in sight of their first win of the season despite the early loss of Sam Greening (0) who was bowled by Neil Walton (1-17).

But Mitchem took two wickets for nine runs to leave them 14 runs short – yet another close disappointment for Cosmos.

Puddletown Reserves consolidated their Division Three promotion spot as they beat Charlton Down Seconds.

Chris Eastment starred with the ball, taking four for 29, and Charlton Down were indebted to a quick 27no from Kim Park to reach 113-9.

Michael Crabb made sure this was little problem for Puddletown as his 71 not out led them home by nine wickets.

Dorchester Colts beat New Look in a game which saw a quite amazing finish.

Will Morgan (57) and Nathan Quinn (46no) gave Colts a big score of 196-5.

For New Look, Paul Chatterton (33) and Manoj Somaratne (24) set a good platform, but when Ben Alford (3-15) got these two out, the innings collapsed, Ben and Billy Baker ending with three wickets each.

But it was Remy Wood (3-0) who stole the show, bowling just three balls and taking a wicket with all of them, including himself catching the last one to complete a memorable hat-trick.
