BEAMINSTER School's Ludi Synakova returned a remarkable double silver at the National Cadets Athletics Championships at Grantham Stadium.
Synakova, a Year 9 student, was one of only two Dorset cadets to make it through to the finals, taking second place in both the shot put and javelin events.
Synakova's father, who travelled with her to Grantham, said: “It was an extremely windy and rainy day so all the efforts by the athletes were amazing.”
Synakova is no stranger to national competition having won gold in the discus at the nationals last year, despite competing against older girls.
Her success in getting through to the finals again and taking silver in two completely different disciplines just demonstrates what a good all-rounder she is.
Her tutor, Miss Coleman, said: “We are all immensely proud of Ludi. She is a lovely girl, a real asset to our tutor group, and clearly a very talented athlete.
"To be able to compete and win at the highest level is amazing, and we can’t wait to see what she does in the future. Well done Ludi!”
