BASEMENT side Saints Security had no answer as table-toppers Gungho Marketing stormed to victory.
A strong start from Gungho put them on a scoring streak.
Saints worked hard to gain control of the game but Gungho C, Tia Chaloner, used the court well to move the ball and retain possession.
Positional changes by Gungho left them a little on the back foot.
Saints capitalised on this, working well to keep possession.
WD Jade Carroll, made some excellent interceptions for her team.
The third quarter saw Gungho make further changes but this time they settled quickly, scoring the first four goals of the quarter.
Saints worked hard to combat Gungho’s sudden onslaught, with great defensive work in Gungho’s goal third but it was not enough.
The final quarter saw Gungho continue to play fast, focused netball.
Saints worked well to adapt their play to counteract Gungho’s speed but in the end, Gungho walked away with a comfortable win.

COASTAL CHEESE 23
A LATE goal from Coastal Cheese earned a draw against Team Waikiki.
The first quarter saw evenly-matched play in the mid-court, with interceptions from both teams keeping the score low.
Waikiki’s Lin Rawcliffe (C) and Lauren Stones (GD) worked hard to get the ball to their shooters – however, Coastal’s defence was quick to deny scoring opportunities, leaving Waikiki a point down going into the second quarter.
Coastal extended their lead with fast-paced play from C, Wendy Doyle.
In the D, Holly Fowler (GS) and Anna Mitchell (GA) showed pinpoint accuracy to convert goal after goal.
Waikiki fought back with some spectacular long shots from GS Katy Leneghan, to take the lead by one goal going into the final quarter.
With all to play for, the teams came out with renewed determination, matching each other goal for goal. A final push from Coastal allowed them to draw even, leaving the scores tied at the end of this tense match.

EXE TRAINING 37
EXE Training took the honours to rock the league leaders.
The match started evenly as the teams made good challenges for their opponents.
Exe Training’s defence put great pressure on Artifex’s shooters to prevent scoring opportunities, whilst Exe’s shooters carved out a small lead.
Exe showed off some strong and accurate passing across the court.
In the D, Megan Edwards (GA) took some skilful shots to ensure Exe stayed in front.
Exe upped their pace but
Artifex adjusted easily, with strong defence fighting against Exe’s attacking flow – however, this was not enough to slow their lead.
Artifex’s Rhiannon Carter (WD) made excellent use of space to secure interceptions.
Artifex took every opportunity to claw back the score difference.
In the end, however, Exe’s
accuracy allowed them to
dominate the game and
triumph over the division
leaders.
DIVISION ONE
EXPERT CATERING 41
WYKE SMUGGLERS 30
EXPERT Catering are level on points with leaders Artifex after this victory.
Catering started strongly in a fast-paced first quarter.
Wyke’s defenders fought brilliantly, but were unable to overcome the attacking might of Lauren Kenny (WA) and Emma Bright (C) as Expert surged ahead.
Wyke had renewed energy after some tactical changes. GA, Sofia Voss, put great enthusiasm into her shooting to lower the deficit.
Expert took some time to regain their rhythm, but by half-time had extended their lead with some crucial turnovers.
Both teams’ mid-court players worked hard to drive the ball into their shooters – despite some tactical errors, Expert continued to strengthen their lead.
Wyke made a final tactical change as Amelia Corrie-Fairhurst came on at C, wasting no time in getting the ball to her shooters. However, Expert’s consistency through the match allowed them to stay on top and claim a well-earned victory.
