DORSET U16 3
BERKS & BUCKS U16 4
DORSET Under-16s won the South and West Counties Championship despite a 4-3 loss to Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
Having won their first four matches in the competition, Dorset required a point against Berkshire and Buckinghamshire in their final match to win the trophy.
With five minutes of added time remaining and Dorset winning 3-2 the silverware looked to be heading back to Dorset for the first time in 12 years however their opposition added two goals in added time.
With two games remaining, Somerset could have lifted the trophy if they had gained maximum points from their two remaining games, but Dorset’s rivals lost both matches to hand them the title.
Dorset, managed by Bridport boss Rich Robson, received their trophy after a match against an under-15 team comprising of players from Poole Town FC Wessex and Weymouth – the two finalists in the Dorset Specsavers Under-15 Cup final.
