BERE Regis captain Rich Cole is waiting for wounded Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League champions Wimborne & Colehill to show their true colours ahead of their clash at the Leaze tomorrow (1pm).
Only an abandoned match with Broadstone, the hosts having amassed 259-9 from 50 overs, stopped the rot for the Minstermen after successive losses to Dorchester and Shroton.
But Cole, whose side has two wins from three games, is all too aware of the quality Wimborne possess and retains caution ahead of the contest.
He told Echosport: “I’m still waiting for them to show their grit and determination. I’m sure they’ve still got it in them.
“I’m aware they’ve lost some key players but we know they’ve still got the potential to be champions. It’s a game where we forget about the opposition and make sure we’ve done what we need to do to win the game.”
Bere are boosted by the return of pacemen Crispin Brown and Rich Payne, although star all-rounder Matt King misses out. Cian Evans and Sean Walbridge also make way, with Rob Cole coming in.
Cole added: “We’ve got out fast bowlers back but unfortunately lost Matt – he’s been a steady performer at the top of the innings. It’s a case of our batting line-up’s going to have to stand up better this week and make sure we all contribute – those that get those starts push on and really build an innings.
“We want to build on what our initial success has been like, put last week behind us and start building some momentum again.”
Bere: White, Payne, Murphy, Lambert, Rich Cole, Rob Cole, Goodhew, Griffiths, Brown, Woodhouse, Keegan
