NICK Stopforth secured the HMS Iron Duke Salver with an impressive 41 Stableford points at Came Down Golf Club.

Stopforth felt he had been in form but was unable to put all aspects of his game together in the same round.

Long putts gave him three points on several holes and he was able to keep non-scoring points off his card.

Other good scores were: Division One Andrew King (39) and Robert Harvey (38); Division Two: Daniel Turner 40; Division Three: Maurice Tattershall (40) and Malcolm Brewer (39).

The Seniors’ Jack Toop Trophy was won by Frank Swinton with a nett 66, followed by Hugh Lawes with nett 67, Alan Bernard (68) and Roger Locke (69).

In the May Medal, Division One’s Mark Osborne hit nett 68 from Alan Harris 69. In Division Two, Stewart Green’s nett 68 beat Timothy Emerton’s 69 and Division Three’s David Bonnett (71) beat Michael Laming (72).
