LEA Windsor took the spoils in West Bay Sea Angling Club’s May Thursday night contest.

The event was due to take place at Seatown, but on arriving at the venue the sea was pushing well up the beach with four hours to go before high tide, so for safety reasons the match was changed to a rover.

Most anglers chose to fish Burton including Gerry Reed, who on his first cast landed a nice bass of 6lb 11oz.

Results: First – most fish points – Lea Windsor 10pts

Second – best fish – Gerry Read bass (6lb 11ozs)

Third – most species (2) – Steve Harwood dogfish and pouting

Species caught in match were bass, dogfish and pouting.

Elsewhere, West Bay have started a new ‘fish of the quarter’ competition. The captor of the best fish of the quarter will win a £30 tackle voucher and this competition is open to club members only.

The leading fish for the quarter April – June so far is Steve Harwood’s small eyed ray of 4kg 565gm at 125.79 per cent.
