MARK Molesley says his side have earned the right for another title shot, as the Terras prepare for a final day showdown at home against Farnborough, with the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South title on the line tomorrow (3pm).

Win and Weymouth are champions. Draw or lose and the Terras must hope Taunton Town do not claim all three points against relegation-threatened Basingstoke Town with the Peacocks one point behind the Terras but with a goal difference deficit of 10.

When the maths of the situation was put to him, Molesley replied: “It is as simple as that.

“We have earned the right to have a chance to win it again.

“Our performances have put us at the top of the tree and we still are.

“We just need to work hard and fight hard and there is no bigger carrot at the end of it.”

Molesley admitted that there was some frustration still being in the title race, with the past three games having had a potential series of results that would have seen the Terras crowned champions on the day.

When asked if there was a bit of annoyance that it has come down to the final game, Molesley said: “I think with the position we were in, then yeah definitely but we cannot let that frustration get in the way now, we have got to use that as fuel for our fire and push forward to the next game.”

Last time out, Farnborough inflicted Weymouth’s first defeat of the season, with the Terras winning 3-1 at half-time until the Boro fought back to win 4-3.

Molesley said: “Farnborough is another real tough test, another team who have played very well this season, they have beaten us already this year and they will be another tough game, like Chesham proved and so did Beaconsfield.

“Those sort of mid-table teams with nothing to play for so to speak are tricky sometimes but we will take on the challenge. Like I say we need to focus on ourselves.”

Looking ahead to the game, Weymouth assistant-manager Tom Prodomo said the team approach the game full of confidence and says they are looking forward to it.

Prodomo said: “It is a really exciting game and one that we have earned the right to be a part of, it is one that we approach full of confidence and one that we are really looking forward to.

“The squad is really strong, we have got a really good group of players there that work hard and train hard, so it always makes selection difficult.

“We are ready and raring to go.”

Callum Buckley and Tiago Sa are set to miss the contest for the Terras.

The club will be strictly keeping the kick-off at 3pm, with it being the last game of the season.

As a result, the club ask that people come as early as possible, with entry to the club available from 1pm, and the bar open from 1pm, and the club ask for correct change to be brought for purchasing tickets.
