COLFOX Academy junior boys’ team enjoyed a marvellous return at the Clayesmore Relays event, coming away with two trophies.
The West Dorset outfit attended for the first time in many years with the event comprising of four runners, each completing one-and-a-half miles, before tagging the next person in the team.
The event attracted 28 schools and almost 700 runners, making it one of the largest cross-country relay events in the country.
Colfox’s year seven boys got off to a fast start and handed over in first place with Jonny Styrin recording the third fastest time of the day.
He then handed to Kieran Coombs who blitzed the field to record the fastest time of the day.
Kiran Wills maintained first place before handing over to Roland Ross who finished strongly ahead of Clayesmore and Millfield Prep.
Colfox’s year eight team also ran fantastically well to finish second overall having been involved in a battle for first place for the entire race.
