BRIDPORT Barracudas beat five teams to finish eighth with 79 points, despite having two swimmers at the Dorset County Swimming Championships Round Two.

Terry-Jane Hare claimed six medals, including one gold and two silvers, six personal bests as she and Jess St. Barbe-Baker managed a PB in the 50m free.

As a duo, coached by Aaron Beal, they fended off North Dorset, Blandford, Weymouth, Sherborne Storm, and Clayesmore.

Hare’s gold came in the 200m butterfly, with a silver in the 100m event, while claiming another silver in the 400m freestyle.

Her bronzes came in the 50m freestyle, 200m of the same event, and in the 200m backstroke, and Hare is currently ranked fourth in the 11 years girl age group.

The club would like to say thank you to their volunteer coach, Aaron, for all his hard work getting them to such a high standard and well done to both the swimmers for training so hard in the run up to this championships!

Bridport Barracudas is run entirely by volunteers – from teachers and coaches, to event organisers, uniform organisers, fundraisers and register takers.
