BOURNEMOUTH III 67
BRIDPORT 0
A DEPLETED Bridport side were humbled 67-0 as Bournemouth Thirds ran out comfortable winners in their Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts One South clash.
Sadly for the Blues, the three key players injured against Weymouth two weeks ago will all be out for the rest of the season, further depleting their squad.
Consequently, Bridport went to Bournemouth with only 16 players, some of whom were new to the squad and with not much expectation against a Bournemouth side who have been blowing hot and cold all season.
With club captain Tom Gamwell going off early with an injury, coach Lee Burdett, having not played serious rugby for some time, came on but they were unable to do anything against Bournemouth’s side, going in 27-0 down at half-time.
Predictably, the Blues were overwhelmed in the second half and went down 67-0 to remain bottom of the table.
With the other results in this league the Blues can have hopes of survival by targeting wins against Puddletown, Blandford and Salisbury.
Bridport host Wimborne Seconds on Saturday.
