STEVE Fowles stormed to victory in the juniors against parents match at West Bay, including the Junior Shore Match Trophy, hauling in four sizeable fish from the contest.

This year’s match was fished alongside the club’s Xmas Fayre match, with Fowles triumphant once more.

Due to the unfavourable weather conditions forecast it was decided to fish from the black hut on East pier to the inner harbour.

Though it was windy and cold there was no rain but the water was very coloured.

Six adults and four juniors fished the match, with all but two managing to catch fish.

Luckily, Paul Lynham managed to catch a fish with just a few minutes to go. Though not enough to win the match, he managed to avoid the draw for the wooden spoon.

After the match anglers retired to the George Hotel for a wonderful stew and the prize presentation.
