JIM Thorpe (18) in Division One with 30 points was the overall winner as 49 people entered for the 14-hole Stableford, but not quite so many for the AGM that took place afterwards.
Thorpe was followed by Peter Mowat (15) and Brian Fearon (14) scoring 29 points with Mowat taking runner-up spot after countback. In Division Two, Mick Kelson, Terry Garrett and Alan Bentley all carded 29 points and, after countback, were placed in that order.
At the AGM that followed, Thorpe, after his win, took over the captaincy from Dave Buckland who had done sterling work for the last two years. The meeting was followed by the presentation of the season’s trophies.
