LYME Regis threw away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 at home to Topsham Town in the Devon & Exeter Premier Division.

The Seasiders started well and took the lead when Cody Bowditch put a cross in after 20 minutes which Jake Bearpark fired in from close range.

The hosts scored again five minutes later when Ben Vine pulled the ball back to Mark Bailey who drove the ball in through a crowd from 20 yards.

Ben Turner then created a lot of space for Bowditch who fired in from 10 yards.

Lyme then missed three gilt-edged chances as Vine missed from close range, Bearpark hit the ball at a defender on the line with the rest of the goal gaping and Bowditch fired wide from a yard out.

However, Topsham got a goal back on the stroke of half-time after scrambling the ball past Will Meech in the Lyme goal.

The home side managed to control the game well but then suffered the loss of Gary Knight to a hamstring injury which forced the Seasiders into a reshuffle after 75 minutes.

Five minutes later, Topsham had another goal back, slamming the ball in from nine yards.

Disaster then struck for the hosts when, in the 95th minute, Kingsley Wellman fouled one of the visitors on the edge of the area

The away side capitalised to fire home to complete the comeback and deny the Seasiders.
