UPLYME & Lyme Regis finished a tumultuous season with a 48-run win at home over Countess Wear in D Division East of the Tolchards Devon League.
Uplyme will still be relegated however, with their 100 points seeing them rock bottom of the table and some 105 points away from safety.
Still, their victory was well-deserved and began when Countess elected to field in a decision that did not pay off for their side.
Uplyme defied their league situation with a confident and consistent batting performance throughout their order en-route to a 223-run total.
Steve Batey hit a confident 39 before he was trapped lbw by Parminder Singh to leave Uplyme on 72-2.
Captain Laurie Thomas (43) opened the batting and ensured his side had 100 runs on the board before he was bowled by Parminder Singh to leave Uplyme 102-3.
Worries may have gathered when Tim Daniel (0) was bowled just one-run later.
Tyler Wellman then came to the crease, hitting 43 as Uplyme set a great target of 223 all out.
Countess Wear had a one-sided innings, with Nathan Bright hitting 99 of their eventual 174-run total before he was caught by Harry Felgate from a Batey delivery late on with Countess 171-6.
The rest of their order struggled as Thomas took three wickets to whittle their latter order away and Charlie Moss and Neil Price took two wickets each.
