LULI Loveridge has claimed a remarkable two golds representing England in the space of two weeks.

Loveridge, 14, rode Arrow Head Quiver to success at both the Welsh and Irish Pony Internationals as part of a four person team.

Jemma Loveridge, her mother, said: “It was very good, she got two amazing double clearances. But yes two gold medals, lots of prizes and lots of fun.

“I think two gold medals in two weeks is pretty cool. She rode in the Irish International two weeks ago and got gold, and today rode in the Welsh International and got gold.

In between the two internationals Loveridge competed at Hickstead but had four faults and came 11th out of 24th.

When it was put to her that it must have made the result easier to swallow, Loveridge said: “Exactly, there are only four home ponies, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. She has been selected for two and it is a real honour.”

Loveridge has also qualified for Horse of the Year show at the NEC in Birmingham, despite doing so under testing conditions

Loveridge said: “It is amazing as well, because it is really tough to do that. Every child in the country tries to do that. It is really properly tough they have to go through a grueling three rounds.”

She took the top qualifying spot back on Sunday, June 10, but did so when she lost her grandmother on her birthday, but admirably retained focus to qualify.

Loveridge said: “Focus, it was proper proper focus but she is a good kid.”

Her next chance to appear for England will be at the end of October, but the team has not been announced yet.
