THE first event of the Area Primary Cross Country Races was held last week and saw some compelling finishes.
Conditions were perfect leading to one of the highest turnouts from participants and parents alike.
The girl’s race was dominated by Colmers winner, Loveday Found (Symondsbury) who led from start to finish. She crossed the line in first place followed by R Crane (Bridport St Marys) and M Macdonald (St Catherine’s) in second and third respectively.
In the team result it was Symondsbury, inspired by Found, who won the A race, while Parrett and Axe secured the B team race.
As for the boy’s race, Oakley Winters-Obrien(St Catherine’s) set off hard and finished comfortably as winner ahead of A Cox (Symondsbury) who came second.
St Catherine’s school also claimed third position through F Parkman, leading them to win both the A and B team events.
