BERKSHIRE 351 & 156-6 dec (24pts) beat Dorset 96 & 84 (4pts)

DORSET lost their final four wickets in as many balls as they crumbled to a 327-run walloping at the hands of Berkshire.

Batting woes came back to haunt Chris Park’s side at Finchampstead, as only four of their entire line-up managed to reach double figures across two innings and the side as a collective failed to reach three figures on two separate occasions.

Berkshire’s Oli Wilkin removed the visitors’ tail of Josh Digby, Mark Wolstenholme, Bradley Currie and Tom Barber in emphatic fashion in their second innings, as the away team were rolled over for just 84, having also only posted a miserly 96 first time around earlier on day two.

Berkshire were dominant throughout the contest against Park’s men, having scored 351 on day one and also declared on 156- 6 the following afternoon, leaving Dorset a massive 412 for victory.

But the visitors did not even get a quarter of the way to that figure, Wilkin emerged the pick of the bowlers with 4-16 from 7.4 overs, opening partner Tom Nugent also took 3-26 to give him 10 wickets in the match.

The crushing defeat leaves Dorset sixth in the Western Division table, with other sides below them still to fulfil their final fixtures of the season.
