FIND THE BALL COMPETITION RULES

1) All entries to have a minimum of 60 crosses and a maximum of 325 per coupon. Coupons with 326 or more will be disqualified.

2) Entries altered or defaced will be invalid.

3) Competitors may submit as many coupons as they wish.

4) Multiple entries can be sent in one envelope with a covering postal order or cheque.

5) Newsquest accepts no responsibility for entries delayed, lost or mislaid.

6) Proof of posting cannot be accepted as proof of delivery.

7) Payment may be made by postal order or cheque for the correct amount payable to Newsquest. Stamps will not be accepted in payment.

8) Do not send cash in the post.

9) A competitor cannot win more than one share of the prize money across all titles each week.

10) The Editor’s decision on winning entry or entries and matters relating to this competition is final. No correspondence can be entered into.

11) Employees of NEWSQUEST Media Group and subsidiary companies and members of their families are not eligible to enter the competition.

12) Address entries to FTB PO Box 24 Competitions, Southampton, S016 9ZD, in a sealed envelope.

13) Entries can be posted in the collection boxes at selected newsagents and Branch Offices, where applicable.

14) Understamped entries are not accepted.

15) Prize monies are held for and on behalf of winners.

16) Entries received after the closing date will be returned.

17) Winners will be notified by post.

18) Winners & nearest-miss will be invited to take part in publicity.

19) The competition is open to readers of the Southampton, Bournemouth, Dorset Echos, Brighton Argus and Sunday Independent, Plymouth.

20) Clear rubber stamps and self adhesive labels will be accepted

21) The jackpot prize will be paid to the entrant, whose exact centre of their cross marks the exact centre of the ball when the photograph was taken.

22) The nearest-miss prize will be paid to the entrant whose cross is nearest to the centre of the ball.

23) If the Jackpot is not won, £1,000 will be added to the following week’s Jackpot and £50 will be added to the nearest-miss Prize.

24) After a jackpot has been won, the new Jackpot will start at £6,000 and the nearest-miss prize £1,000.

25) If the Jackpot is not won after 45 weeks, when standing at £50,000, 3 nearest-miss prizes will be awarded totaling £24,000 (1st £12,000, 2nd £8,000, 3rd £4,000). The Jackpot the following week will be £26,000 the nearest-miss prize will be £2,000 until the jackpot reaches £50,000 if no jackpot winner the process is repeated.

26) The jackpot will only be awarded when there is an exact centre of the ball winner.

27) If there is more than one winner the Jackpot will be shared and, similarly, if there is more than one runner up the nearest-miss prize will be shared.

29) 70 £15 consolation prizes awarded each week 20 for Southern Daily Echo, 20 for Daily Echo Bournemouth, 10 for Dorset Echo, 10 for Sunday Independent, 10 Brighton Argus. Awarded to those who are the closest from each title after a jackpot or nearest-miss winner.

30) Photocopies will not be accepted, original forms from the paper only.
