The crucial match is Ranger's opportunity to secure their first continental title in 50 years.

It would also be a historic victory for the Frankfurt side and would be their first European trophy in 40 years.

Rangers European trophies

Rangers have played in over 300 matches and three UEFA sanctioned tournaments since its first official European football match back in 1956.

They also won the European Cup Winners' Cup back in 1971-72 and also came runners up in 1960-61 and 1967-68.

While they have never won the UEFA or European Super Cup, Rangers has been runners up to both in 2007-08 and 1972-73 respectively.

Rangers was close to European glory during the 2008 UEFA Cup final but lost against Zenit St. Petersburg.

This would be its first European trophy since earning the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1972 and if they win, they will get an automatic spot in the group stage of next season’s Champions League.
